Anew Worlds

One More Dig Privacy Policy

Account and identifiers: One More Dig needs no account and has no sign-in. The game creates no player ID or device ID. When you share a garden, our server gives that one share a random link ID, which isn't tied to you or your device.

What stays on your device: your whole save (how deep you've dug, your vaults, medals, sand garden, settings and language choice) is kept in the game's local storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is never uploaded, and we can't see it. Deleting the app deletes the save.

What leaves your device: apart from purchases, which go through Apple (next paragraph), one thing only, and only when you tap "Share link" in the sand garden. The game then sends the garden picture, a smaller copy for link previews, your signature if you turned it on (up to 10 characters) and the language the game is set to, over HTTPS to our server at anewworlds.com, passing through Cloudflare, which carries the traffic for that address. The server keeps what was sent for the period stated in the last paragraph of this page and then deletes it, whether or not anyone has opened the link. Your IP address is held in memory for about a minute to limit how often uploads can be made; it is never written to storage or to logs. If the upload fails, the game hands the picture file to the share sheet instead, and nothing is uploaded.

Permissions and purchases: the game asks for one permission, the first time you tap "Save image": adding pictures to Photos. That access is add-only, so the game can't view or read your photos. It asks for no location, camera, microphone or contacts access. The full version is an in-app purchase through Apple (StoreKit): Apple handles the payment, we never see your payment details or Apple Account, and the game checks with Apple on your device whether the full version is unlocked.

Sharing: a shared link opens a page on anewworlds.com with your garden picture and, if you added one, your signature. Anyone with the link can open it; the page isn't listed anywhere on our site and asks search engines not to index it. Apps you post the link in may show a preview made from the smaller picture. The link stops working once the picture is deleted (see the last paragraph). Pictures you keep with "Save image" or send as a file go only where you send them.

Third-party code: the game is built with Capacitor, an open-source app framework, and its Filesystem, Haptics and Share plugins. They run only on your device (holding the picture file for the share sheet, vibration, opening the share sheet) and send nothing anywhere. Purchases and saving to Photos use Apple's own system frameworks. There are no ads, analytics, crash reporting or third-party tracking. Outside the app, Cloudflare carries the traffic for anewworlds.com, so shared pictures pass through it on their way to our server.

Pictures uploaded when you share are deleted after 180 days and contain no personal information apart from any signature you add yourself. If you'd rather we not keep yours, email hello@anewworlds.com.
